Our Fall 2020 Troop-wide camp has finally arrived. Here are the details you need to know. For those who are new to the troop, pay close attention to the information below so you will know exactly what to do.
WHEN
Friday, November 13, 2020, 5:00 PM through Sunday, November 15, 2020, 10:00 AM
WHERE
LeFleur’s Bluff State Park
DETAILS
Overview This is a troop-wide camp out. Trailmen of all ages are invited to participate. Trailmen in the Woodlands Trail Unit (K5-5th Grade) must be accompanied by a parent, or an adult chaperone. Navigator and Adventurer Trailmen may participate without a parent or adult chaperone.
Meals The troop will provide meals for Saturday and Sunday. Campers will be own their own for dinner Friday night (eat before you come, bring food to cook on your own, or bring a cold meal you can eat on site). Campers will need to bring their own drinks and snacks for the weekend. After registration, we will group the campers into separate dining groups for purposes of purchasing food and cooking meals at the camp out. An experienced Trail Life leader from each group will assist with each group’s meal planning.
Gear All campers need to bring sleeping gear (pad and sleeping bag/blankets), clothes for the weekend, and any other personal items you may need. The troop has tents for the Navigator and Adventurer units. Campers in the Woodlands Trail group will need to provide their own tent. If you do not have a tent, please let Brad Hatchett know as he can help you to select an affordable tent option, or help you to find someone who might be able to loan you a tent for the weekend. Due to the time of year, it may or may not be cool, so you will need to watch the weather to determine the appropriate clothing to pack, and any other gear you may need (rain jacket, rain pants, waterproof shoes, etc.). The troop has a good bit of cooking gear; however, your dining group coordinator may request that certain group members bring their own gear to ensure we have enough for the large group. As suggested packing list for a camping trip can be found on the troop’s website here.
Registration So that we have sufficient time to plan activities, dining groups, and meals, we need each participant to register for the event by as soon as possible. A camping fee of $19 per participant will cover your meals for the weekend. This fee should be paid via the troop’s online payment platform, Cheddar Up. A registration link is below. Please note this important detail about camp out registration - each camper must register and pay SEPARATELY. This is required in order for us to be able to export the registration list to excel for purposes of planning dining groups. When checking out, please add ONE (and ONLY ONE) camper fee to your cart, then complete the registration form. You will need to repeat this process for each participating camper. You should have gotten a detailed email from Brad about the campout and it will have the Cheddar Up registration link in it.
